Took this out on the trails an ill be honest. I didn't think it would taste this great. Definitely for two people to eat. Personally i was full while out on a hike but was desperately hungry. Bison Masher really hit the spot.

Also, I'm a ranch fanatic so I added some good seasoning, giving it a kick that I think you'll love too! Preparation Instructions:
1. Open pouch at tear mark. remove oxygen absorber.
2. Carefully add 2 cups (16 oz) boiling water to pouch.
3. Stir well and zip pouch closed. Let stand for 10 minutes.
4. Open pouch, stir again and enjoy!

This was hands down the best backpacking meal I've ever had. Hiked 15 miles in the ansel adams wilderness and sat down exhausted to eat. This meal was delicious and filling. I've never been so satisfied in the back-country. Simply the best.
So freaking good!!! Who doesn’t like mashed potatoes, ground bison, and veg? Very filling and I could eat this at least 3 times a week, oh wait, I sometimes do.

Just damn convenient and delicious
I love all the Mendes meals ALL of them! It's hard to pick a favorite they are all wonderful! I purchased theChad Mendes signature bucket this season and last season I purchased several of the packages, but no bucket - when the bucket was released this season I got it because I know the items sell out FAST. I cut back about a quarter of a cup of water for the Bison Ranch Mashers and the Backcountry Bison Bowl and added black pepper to them and POW even better but you don't need the extra pepper - I just love it. BUY IT BEFORE IT IS SOLD OUT! Last year I even wrapped up a couple of packets as Xmas presents for some pals that do a lot of backpacking and camping who actually dehydrate and freeze dry a lot of their own food provisions and they reported that these meals were their absolute favorites! THANK YOU PEAK REFUEL!

The Bison mash was a hit at our camp out
I ordered these for this year's archery elk hunt and we all loved them! Easily the best freeze dried meal I've ever had. I wasn't expecting a whole lot of bison in there, but there was enough to satisfy my taste buds. The flavor is excellent, and it is a very hearty meal. Definitely hits the spot when deep into those backcountry hunts! I just ordered a bunch more before they run out.

This was just fabulous! I had bought two of these. One for myself and one for my daughter, And it's a good thing too. Because they were so good we both ate one whole bag each. Truly some of the best trail food we've had.

I only partially recommend this one. The mashed potatoes, the vegetables and meat cooked evenly but the bison threw off the taste for me. It wasn't bad. Just wasn't what I'd call 5 star. I ended up adding white cheddar cheese powder to it. That made it better. If I had this in a pack, I'd have no problems eating it, but I'd look for other meals first.
