i eat Peak every now and then ... cause its easy eats ... and i have em on hand .
Britt E.
I have tried other brands of breakfast skillets. Most have been acceptable.
Peak is by far the best.

3.75 Stars, Cooked per directions. Meat tough.
Added 1/2 cup water and microwave 2 minutes. Meat much better, the extra water was absorbed.
Still hungry after more than an hour.
Could not see either of the bell peppers. My wife could taste them, though.
William C.
Pealk Refuel....Actual real proteins not that garbage Wise Foods serves up "Yucchthwapt!! *&$$#%"! As Bill the Cat from Bloom County wood say. I'm in the process of getting rid of all my Wise Foods. Try eating one meal ugh. Just awful.
Brandon D.
Delicious, lots of eggs, sausage & potatoes. Another home run product!
Cosette R.
Rehydrates to a good texture and tastes great! It was a nice surprise to find a breakfast skillet meal without milk in it, too. It was perfect for my needs!
Emil K.
Fueling up for the days adventures.
David M.
Too much green peppers. Also I would rather see larger egg chunks.
I didn't mix my second batch and it was better. Eggs were more in tack but still small in size. Would give it a 5 if not for these reasons.
Eric E.
Overall a great meal for long haul days. It is a very simple and healthy tasting breakfast scramble option. I thought the sausage would contribute a bit more flavor to the meal so that is the reason a 4 vs 5.
Philip M.
We have really looked forward to the hearty, tasty Breakfast Skillet for several years. However, when we received our last order, we were very disappointed that the protein had been reduced from 39G to 31G and 680 calories to down to 540 calories. Our order contained both sizes, for the same price. The previous size gave us a great start for a long day on the trail. Why was the portion reduced?
Philip S.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this brekfast meal!!!!
*** Each and every morning on the trail this is my brekfast.
The QUALITY of this Peak Refuel meal is unmatched in the Freeze-Dried category.
*** Read the ingredients label on this package, only real and healthy food. NO chemicals! 31 grams of protein. Less than half the amount of sodium in this package compared to competitors.
GREAT JOB!
Kenneth C.
This is a great breakfast skillet meal. It's easy to prepare and tastes great. Lots of sausage, eggs, pepper, potatoes and onions make for a hearty breakfast. The only thing I would suggest is to let it set a little longer than the 10 minutes required on the packaging. I've had this several times and I've found that if you let it set a few minutes longer it gives the peppers and onions more time to rehydrate and soften up.
Connie B.
Have ordered a few times, love it! Great taste. Have used camping just heated up some tortillas and loaded it up. Filling. My husband and I eat it and have some leftover, so will feed 3 people.
Thomas H.
I gave it 4 stars, It has room for improvement.
David F.
We love these for thier quality, and they are fine for folks who can't have milk
James K.
I would recommend this product. These products tend to be on the higher end in taste.
David F.
We are testing my wife's favorite Peak breakfast and a summit series tent before assent. Both are fantastic. we ordered 6 breakfasts and followed with 6 more. Our cold weather gear works down to -18 Fahrenheit. So fast cooking at altitude is the rule.
David F.
Rosemary ate the Peak Breakfast Skillet while I had a competitor's similar product. Though they were both good, the Peak had more food, calories and less sodium. The quality was different too. Stuff looked fresh. Really. The competitor was made differently because it had a super long shelf life of 30 years. IMO - if you need great food you plan to eat within 5 years, the Peak breakfast skillet is the Cadillac choice. We have already ordered 6 more of the Peak.
Connie B.
It’s very good, husband and I take camping with us with some tortillas. Filling and great taste
Kyle D.
Love all the flavors. I buy this just to eat at home. Pretty darn good. I like adding green sauce.
PAUL
My favorite freezer dried meals
Steph
LOVE PEAK MRE’s so I give it a 5-Star but I struggled with this one. Not my favorite option, personally, but someone else might love it.
J.D. G.
Excellent food! I've tried just about everything in 30 years of hunting, to include purchasing my own freeze dryer and making my own meals for 4+ years. Peak Refuel is an excellent value and supplements what I make for myself. A+++++
Daniel B.
Bought this to compare to other brands. So far, this is my favorite.
Bob J.
Great product very filling.
Josh
Just spent 7 days in the Wyoming wilderness, and every meal was good, most were amazing!!!
Connie B.
Went camping and took this for a morning meal, served it with tortillas. Tastes great and filling!
Robert
Tastes great. I will buy again.
Atsuko O.
This is by far my most favorite breakfast. I like the fact that it is loaded with big chunks of vegetables. I liked it so much, I ate it one night at home as a quick meal! Yummy!
Ladd K.
This freeze dried breakfast skillet was so delicious! It tasted like it came hot from a skillet! Planning to purchase more for an up coming trip!
Kaye
This will fill you up. I like to add some additional seasoning of black pepper and some Tony’s
WILLIAM
Yummy for your tummy. Get some.
John J.
This is excellent, we like to bring some flour tortillas wrap it up with some hot sauce. You can eat on the go that way.
Dale S.
Ordered for a hunt out west.
Showed up as ordered fast and easy to get what we need
Fred
The only way to spend ten days on the mountain in the wilderness and stay in great shape with out a lot of extra weight.
Daniel
Great taste and very filling. I did have to let it sit a few minutes longer to let it hydrate thoroughly but wasn’t a big deal that could’ve been me not stirring it enough too.
Dean R.
Our go to breakfast while tent camping, and more recently RV camping. Load up tortillas with a good salsa and a couple of Spoonfuls of Breakfast Skillet.
cecil r.
Food is great !!
Your boxes that the food is shipped in are terrible
The boxes are cheep and tapped very poorly with no packing material inserted. I purchased over 300.00 of Peak food and the huge box was very sketchy.
Don't just blow this review off, please pass it on to the shipping manager
Lisa S.
What a surprise it was. Peak Refuel was my first experience with any kind of freeze dried food. I was advised to try your brand as it was considered to be the best and it was. I have since bought many, many more and shared with friends and family in preparations for a EPIC 1400 motorcycle trip from Nevada to the Canadian boarder, otherwise known as the BDR. Will let you know and send pictures and video if you’re interested. Jack Snider@MadJackMedia.

The quality and taste of this meal is crazy great!
I am out on the trail backpacking and camping 30 days a year. I have tried every major brand of freeze-dried meals. The reasons that I now only purchase Peak 2 Refuel: Real meat and NO fillers. Major source of protein. Peak 2 Refuel package ingredients use significantly less sodium, cholesterol, sugar, and chemicals VS their competitors. This to me is extremely important! There is a good reason why the expire date on Peak 2 Refuel is about 2 or 3 years VS their competition that I have seen expire dates typically 15 to 25 years. Because their competitors’ products are loaded in chemicals!
Edna C.
This was really good. Even my grandkids eat it.
H L.
Seriously?!!!!!!! By far the best dehydrated scrambled eggs I’ve ever had. Honestly was reluctant. Last brand I tried I dumped. Peak Refuel has some awesome meals.
Why save it for breakfast? Ate these for dinner on a recent 40 mile trek. Love the protein content. Next time I’d add a little less water. Only thing missing was hot sauce which I neglected to pack!

Anyone who has ever served in the Military and had the Cold Weather MRE's (Arctic Rations) knows that they are just Mountain House brand packaged in the military cammo bags. They are the same food you would buy at any retail outlet ... and when you're looking at the trees and wondering how to cook them they do taste ok.
The Breakfast Skillet from Peak Refuel are someting of another order all together. They are more flavorful and spicy, no need to include a bottle of Hot Sauce (except for you swamp critters from the South) and as an extra treat there is a whole LOT of food in each package; far more than any Mountain House package I've ever encountered. Now that's ot to say MH isn't a good brand, they are and I've eaten just about every meal they have on their menu, but in the last few yers something has changed in teir produc t line and they just aren't as tastey?
It sure is good to know that for every meal I buy in Peak refuel I can feed at least two adults and be full ...
Pete S.
I gave four stars only because the meal was too much food to eat in one package. I am aware the package is designed to store the uneaten portion. However, the leftovers turns to mush, there is no appeal to eat it and it is just an extra to carry.
The taste was great. Just prefer a smaller package.
Lynn
I did a side-by-side comparison of PR Breakfast Skillet with MH Breakfast Skillet & Peak Refuel wins HANDS DOWN. The pack was stuffed FULL of food that rehydrated easily & completely. Potatoes are diced instead of shredded which gives the dish a very homemade visual appeal & there are actual strips of green & red peppers throughout instead of just tiny dices you can't even taste in the other brand. The PR meal is quite savory, has a nice peppery spice to it without being overwhelming & is VERY filling. I ate as much as I could hold & still had plenty to put in a plastic container (see pic) for later. Will definitely be sticking with Peak Refuel for my future camp meal purchases!
Edna C.
Followed the directions and then added it to hot cast iron pan over the campfire.. Cleaned the pan! So good
Bruce W.
Very tasty and delicious. I will be buying more.
Colby H.
My some is Dairy Free and luckily he likes peppers so this skillet is perfect for us when we are backpacking. We’ve also brought tortillas and made breakfast burritos with this.
Alfred G.
Just finished eating mine, and it was good, but it really is a one serving meal, at least for me.
Timothy Z.
I loved every meal, the best I’ve ever had, keep up the good work. You have earned a customer for life.
Lauren Brooke V.
I did a lot of research comparing different companies and decided to go with all Peak Refuel meals for our Havasupai trip. They were amazing! The breakfast skillet was plenty of food for my husband and I, and to change it up some mornings we brought tortillas to make breakfast tacos at the campsite! I was nervous about them shipping in time and they shipped so quick! Thank y’all so much!
James H.
Sunday Brunch at the office.
Walter S.
Purchased these meals for my daughter’s family who live in the San Bernardino mountains. They arrived just in time as they were unable to get out of Lake Gregory for nearly two weeks due to the massive snow storms. To make it worse, the only grocery store in town had its food collapse and food became scarce. The kids truly enjoyed their emergency meals.
William K.
This one goes to 11! I am a new Peak Refuel consumer. I have used Mountain House since the 90’s. This breakfast skillet is not soupy or mashed casserole chow hall food. The eggs are fluffy, the peppers and onions retain their own flavors, and the sausage chunks are just like home. This really does taste like a home made skillet fry. My first time ordering will not be my last. I will be buying Peak Refuel from now on.
F B.
Is the breakfast skillet meal better than what you can make at home? No it’s not. But if you were in the field and had this for breakfast, it absolutely is a 5 out of 5. If you were able to get your hands on some tortillas and cheddar cheese, this would make a perfect breakfast burrito. Some minor negative comments : i followed the instructions perfectly and found the sausage bits to be under hydrated, you may want to allow it to sit longer than the suggested 15 minutes before eating. Secondly, and this is just a matter of taste. I felt it was under seasoned, which was fine with me, some added salt and pepper resolved this for me.
Katherine O.
So I tried this and cooked as is and followed directions to the letter. It turned out much better than I thought. No left over water in bottom. The veggies and egg hydrated perfectly. The sausage not so much which I find typical. The sausage was mostly soft and better hydrated than other meals I tried. I like that it's not shredded potatoes either. Needed seasoning like pepper or hot sauce. Definitely two servings, maybe even three as it was very filling.
Philip S.
GREAT TASTE! Very healthy list of ingredients.
HALF the sodium and sugar as other manufacturers
of Freeze-Dried foods.
Peak Refuel is indeed the standard for Premium
Freeze-Dried foods.
Jeff L.
One of my favorites you can have it for breakfast or dinner
Doug H.
Tastes great and was quite filling.
Connie B.
Tried this one at home, very good and will feed 3 easily. Had it on tortillas for breakfast.
FORD E.
Great for a fast breakfast!
Robert R. F.
Best breakfast skillet I've had...gives homemade a good run!
Deland S.
Every Peak meal has been very tasty. It’s amazing what comes out of these packages. Try them you won’t be disappointed.
Daniel D.
The breakfast skillet is excellent! Small tortillas makes this a great meal that goes a long way to feed two hunters.
Thomas W.
I wrote this review for the Summit 2.0 by accident. This is a ton of food. No going hungry. I ate a portion before leaving camp, and I would make the rest into a burrito for a mid-morning snack.
Clayton Y.
Lots Of food. This one can feed two people while most the order meals are take only one serving
Ben K.
I liked this meal the first time I tried it, but the second go around was less impressed. I would opt for another Peak meal in the future.
Heather O.
Decent brekkie.
Wes W.
had the breakfast skillet on a trip into the cabinet mountains this week. ate it as a breakfast burrito in a tortilla. really, really good. going to definitely order some more of these.
Timothy D.
Tastes great. Smells great. Looks great. Don’t use to much water when preparing and it’ll be delicious.

Robert N.
This was absolutely the best freeze dried breakfast I have tried, everything rehydrated perfectly with no extra water and tasted amazing(even the egg)!!
I did add just a little bit more water than the package said, but I do that with every meal.
These will definitely be one I stock up on!
Meg W.
This is a very filling meal. One pouch could probably feed three people from my group of hiking buddies. That being said I've only had it once so far. Maybe I didn't rehydrate it properly, but the egg didn't quite get to where it needed to be so it was simultaneously a bit soggy with some crunchy bits. It did have really good flavor though, the peppers in it were really good and I probably would try it again if I knew I needed a massive breakfast or had someone to split it in half with. I'm usually a ravenous backpacker so that's saying something.
Jennifer C.
I was hesitant to try this one but it’s my favorite PEAK meal so far. I cannot believe how much food you get! Roll this up in tortillas It tastes so fresh, and nice peppery hit. LOVE THIS ♥️♥️♥️
Garrett H.
It needed a little salt for the flavor to come out, afterward that it was ok
WM M.
I was pleasantly surprised with this. It was my first time trying anything from Peak Refuel and I've also never had good luck with freeze dried breakfast meals from other companies. I'm also not a fan of freeze dried eggs or breakfast sausage of any type. This one really surprised me.
I think what I like the most is, you really couldn't taste the sausage, which to me was a very good thing. Also the eggs weren't over-powering. Most of the taste was the potatoes and the peppers. I will say, it does need salt/pepper, but what meal that has a lot of potato doesn't.
I usually have no problem finishing off a two serving meal, but this one even tested me. I've never had a 2 serving freeze dried meal that had some much food.
Can't what to try a few more of your meals.
James M.
My son brought some of these on our elk hunt last year.
They were really good.
So much so that I'm taking them this year for myself.
Joseph G.
There is far too much potato in this meal. The extra potato filler makes it too much for even two people to eat.
Lanny H.
Cholesterol is kinda high? Really tasty though.
Matthew C.
I love the flavors in this meal...the sausage is not too salty and the peppers really come through to add great veggie flavor. Sodium content is great for this size meal, which is more in line with what a single camper needs before a big day in the great outdoors than the portion sizes that other companies offer. Taste, texture, and ease of preparation make this a go-to for me. If you use the two cups boiling water or more, expect to strain excess water...I found that using less water (only when it's warm outside) makes it even better, as long as the water is "super heated". Great meal, I originally chose it for the nutritional content, will keep buying it for the taste!
Jason R.
My first elk hunt and I couldnt be more impressed! I had a competitors breakfast and Peak's Breakfast Skillet. The Peak was delicious and enough for two! The competitors was terrible, spongy flavorless cardboard. Needless to say I am a Peak Refuel Fan.
jeff s.
Great meal very easy to fix fed 3 grown ups.
Jason H.
Best breakfast backpacking scramble out there. Awesome!!!
Steve M.
Hands down the Breakfast Skillet is THE Best backpacking meal! My backpacking buddies love it when I break out this meal for breakfast because they know that I can never finish it by myself. Because I'm a nice guy, sometimes I'll stop before I'm full just so I can share more with them. Why they haven't hopped on board with buying Peak Refuel, I don't know. What I do know is that ever since I discovered this brand of backpacking meals, I always have some on hand. Whether it's for that next spur of the moment trip or for my emergency Go Bag, I keep well stocked with Peak Refuel meals.
Roy M.
I bought a few meal packs to test at home before stocking up for an upcoming backpacking trip. The Breakfast Skillet was the first to be put to the test and it passed with flying colors.
The tastes and textures are VERY close to what a stir fry of eggs, sausage, and peppers would taste like if you made it from scratch with fresh ingredients in your home kitchen. This Peak Fuel version couldn't be easier to prepare and the meal was tasty and satisfying. The calorie count, the sodium content, and the protein numbers were all good.
It would be a great meal to start off a challenging hiking day.
Eric S.
Maybe my appetite wasn't up to par, but I couldn't come close to finishing this one off. If I get it again, I will keep it in mind that I need to be extra hungry. I usually don't have any trouble polishing off the 2 person meals.
Chris C.
When compared with similar options, this one is the best, lots of flavor and taste compared to others and tons of taste. Definitely will buy again.
Christopher M.
Had this when I was camping outside Joshua Tree to climb. Super easy to prepare and no hassle. Tastes great with some coffee
Craig
Checking in via satellite, warming up with the ti stove and hot Peak meal after chasing Elk. I saved this one for “ breakfast for dinner” days when I need a delicious, calorie packed meal, coming back wet and tired battling with the rainforest.
Kirstan S.
Breakfast is never my favorite to try and find a meal in the backcountry but I know I need to eat. So when I finally found a egg breakfast that has good texture and taste I was very surprised. Thanks peak fuel for making a good egg skillet.
Cliff K.
There are a lot of companies out there making food for us backpackers and backpack hunters, but very few that make a hardy breakfast. Peakrefuel, killed it with this breakfast skillet! It is delicious an definitely filling! Thanks Peakrefuel!
Leon F.
Best breakfast skillet for the backcountry and even better when paired with a flour tortillas to make a breakfast burrito
Kylie B.
Literally the best freeze dried breakfast I have had by far! Makes excellent breakfast burritos! My BF and I can usually split 1 packet between us and it is filling enough bet us both through until lunch. Love our peak refuels between grocery shopping at home even lol quick easy dinner if you don’t feel like cooking much also.
